Inspired by modernist themes, the Mount Waverley Residence is created by precast panels and metal cladding, with parts of the metal cladding trying to replicate corten steel. The dwelling is rectilinear in form except for the semi angled roof, to create a void space that brings with it a light and airy interior.
Living spaces on both ground floor and first floor take advantage of natural filtered light whilst protecting from the hot sun through the use of external screening whilst the precast basement, produces a thermal sink to take cold air away from the ground and first floor levels producing a thermally balanced dwelling.
